Stewardship Dashboard™ FAQ's
How is the Stewardship Dashboard™ better than reports we get from our accounting system?
The Dashboard gives you the same information as your current accounting system, and much more. The graphical nature of the Dashboard shows trends visually, and highlights areas that may not be readily apparent in a traditional report or spreadsheet.
How often will my Stewardship Dashboard™ be updated?
Attendance, bank balances and weekly income and expenses are updated weekly. Financial statements and monthly statistical averages are updated monthly.
Do I still need to run reports from our accounting system?
The reports automatically produced by the Premium and Premium Plus levels of service typically replace any month end reporting from your accounting system. If you subscribe to the Standard, Basic, or Lite version of the Stewardship Dashboard, you will need reports from your accounting system to enter into the Dashboard. Once reports are either entered or produced by the Dashboard, they are always available online 24/7/365. You do not have to search for a copy of a paper report, because it will always be available on the Dashboard. These reports are also available to all who have access to the Dashboard without distributing paper copies.

Outsourced Accounting FAQ’s
What is outsourcing?
In simple terms, outsourcing is the contracting of a portion of your church’s finance and accounting functions to a company that specializes in performing them. By outsourcing certain essential functions, churches are able to minimize the cost and time required to perform them in-house. The money saved by outsourcing can then be invested in your ministry.

Why should I outsource my financial services?
Outsourcing is a great way to get a higher level of expertise and only pay for what you need. You also don’t have to worry about staff turnover, and often the cost of outsourcing can be less than hired staff. Also you get another set of eyes that help to ensure the accuracy of your financial statements.

What accounting software do you use with your service?
Martus utilizes online accounting systems as well accounting software residing on a church's in-house server. In most cases, you do not have to change the accounting software that you are currently using.

Martus reconciles the bank account(s), adds other journal entries such as depreciation, compiles the financial statements and populates the Stewardship Dashboard™. Martus also provides CFO type financial services such as budgeting support, financial projections and procedural support to ensure an appropriate system of checks and balances.
